There's more to being a car enthusiast than standing around in a parking lot or surfing online forums. We built Avants because we saw an opportunity to improve the way that local gearheads connect and share knowledge. We want to disrupt the 'cars and coffee' industry. We want to do what Bring A Trailer did to eBay....what Jalopnik did to Car & Driver. We believe that there is so much more to being a car enthusiast than standing around in a parking lot. We want to make it easier for enthusiasts to help each other and create new friendships. We want to reduce the friction associated with discovering new cars and new service providers.

Christian is proof that car enthusiasts are just kids playing with grown-up Hot Wheels. Like all Avants members, Christian is a true gearhead who loves all cars, no matter their worth. From Mercedes-Benz W210 estates to Lamborghinis, he appreciates them all.

From rally cross to track days, Naomi is extremely passionate about all kinds of Motorsports. Anyone that has had the pleasure of meeting her knows that her enthusiasm and passion for cars is truly infectious. The fact that she drives a Miata and Merkur XR4Ti makes her even cooler!

Avants members Mike and Andrew have probably set the record for most number of BMW engine swaps performed by a father/son duo. Any gearhead who is a father will tell you that it's their dream for their kids to grow up with a passion for cars. Well, Mike wanted to increase the odds so he made sure to wear a Porsche t-shirt to the hospital when Andrew was born. Looks like the strategy worked.....at least for BMWs!

Avants 'Drive Everything' Event at Emerald Downs - June 3rd

We had another great 'Drive Everything' event this past Sunday at Emerald Downs. Participants got the opportunity to try out three very different courses.....a slalom, a long auto-x and a skidpad.

That escalated quickly! The weather at Sunday's 'Drive Everything' event at Emerald Downs started out relatively pleasant, but things changed quickly when the hurricane arrived! It's a good thing that folks were able to get plenty of driving in before the weather turned south. Although, there were a few die hards who stuck around and battled the puddles. Participants got the opportunity to drive a bunch of cars by swapping with other members on a closed-course. Exercises included a Slalom, Straightaway and relatively large auto-x style course. From American muscle cars (Corvette) to Italian rally cars (Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo II), there w as something for everyone! Can't wait for the next one!

What a great way to celebrate the first sunny day in Seattle in months! Avants members got a private tour of Authentic Motorcars and the opportunity to go for a ride in some amazing automobiles including a BMW 2002Tii, Porsche 356B, Porsche 911 2.7, Ferrari 328 GTS and Lancia Montecarlo. Thank you everyone for coming out! It was so nice to see the supercars come out of hibernation! It felt like opening day of car show season, even though it was 35 degrees outside! Thank you to Shannon Low and his crew for making this event possible! Can’t wait until the next one.

Quick video of the Avants Tech Session at Dent Solutions and Eastside Auto Salon. Sort of a "2 for 1" special :) Doug from Dent Solutions gave us an up-close look at the tools and techniques that are used to safely and effectively remove dents. Joey and Ben from Eastside Auto Salon showed us some of the methods that they use to remove scratches and some of the benefits of Xpel paint protection film.

Thank you to the folks at Griot's Garage for a wonderful event! Avants members got a special hands-on tutorial from the experts at Griot's Garage on how to properly care for their car's paint.

Like kids in a candy store! This past Sunday, Avants members got a special opportunity to experience some amazing cars from Park Place LTD including a Lotus Evora 400, Superformance Cobra Roadster and Aston Martin DB11. The fan-favorite was a tie between the over-the-top Superformance Cobra and the surprisingly fast Lotus Evora 400. Avants members also took the opportunity to swap cars with each other. 46 different swaps took place on Sunday (a new single-day record), with many members swapping for the very first time. A big thank you to the folks at Park Place LTD for putting on a wonderful event!

A big thank you to the folks at Tesla Motors​ in Seattle for putting on a wonderful event and giving Avants members a chance to drive some amazing automobiles, including the P100D Model S and Model X. It was truly an unforgettable experience!
